The Supermicro BPN-SAS3-846EL1 is a high-performance 4U 24-bay LFF (3.5") SAS3/SATA backplane designed for enterprise storage servers and JBOD enclosures. Featuring a single LSI SAS3 expander architecture, this backplane provides up to 12Gb/s SAS3 connectivity while maintaining backward compatibility with SAS2 and SATA drives.

Designed for Supermicro SC846 and compatible 4U 24-bay chassis, the BPN-SAS3-846EL1 supports up to 24 hot-swappable 3.5-inch HDDs or SSDs, making it an ideal solution for high-capacity storage, virtualization, backup, media archives, surveillance, cloud storage, and enterprise data center environments.

Four onboard Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) connectors provide flexible connectivity to modern SAS3 RAID controllers and HBAs. The EL1 single-expander design simplifies cabling while delivering reliable storage performance and scalability.
